Anon0694: Hey Mike how are you? You mentioned in one of your webcasts that you believed women are called to be pastors also, can you show me in scripture because I only see the wife and deaconess in the church setting, where does it talk about women other then having spiritual gifts.

Now I believe it may be very possible for woman to have a pastoral gifting within the Church due to the fact that the role of a pastor is not one of authority or control over the people of God, but instead one that has a gifting of oversight. In otherwords someone who sees what is going on within the Church as a whole and has a gifting of discernment. The whole issue people argue is that woman should not hold a possition of authority over the people of God because that is the role of a man to be in authority. However, 1 Peter 5:3 clearly states that we are not to be "... Lords over God's heritage, but instead to be examples to the flock." That word Lord in those days (King James Version) did not seem to indicate that a Lord was a God, but simply a mananger, someone who is "in charge" over something. This is saying that we are not to play a role of being in charge over God's people, but the way we are to oversee is by the example of our lives laid down, by sharing the word of God and serving others. As a matter of fact the word "oversight" used in 1 Peter 5:2 in the Greek means: to regard, observe, give attention to... it has no indication of our American understanding "to be in charge" of something.

So to the best of my understanding to have a pastoral gifting within the Church means one must have a gift of discernment for oversight, which simply means to see what's happening overall within the Church, and one of extreme servanthood, being able to lead people by example. We can all see clearly that there is no reason a woman cannot have giftings of discernment, servanthood, and leading others by example, therefore this leaves me to believe a woman may be called to be a pastor. I hope this answers your question •• For more on Church structure you can view the full audio book "The Great Ecclesiastical Conspiracy" for free at the following link http://www.fellowshipofthemartyrs.com/home/index.php/audio-and-video/audio-books/369-the-great-ecclesiastical-conspiracy-davis-and-clark.html God bless! ~ Mike
